REGARDING "CCTV aims to fight crime and reassure residents" (Echo, April 18), as the person who publicly highlighted Tow Law’s then insufficiency of working CCTV cameras (HAS, Jan 12), I’m happy to help raise public awareness and be a catalyst for change.
The status quo takes (rather than gives) credit, unsurprisingly.
Being disabled, I share concerns voiced in both the Labour and independent county council candidates’ leaflets – motorists leave our High Street into Bridge Street (where CCTV ends) then hear them go.
I praise and acknowledge sensible motorists, stopping to let pedestrians cross and bus drivers working together to keep traffic flowing safely.
Without principles, who are we?
Steve Lawson, Tow Law
