HOMELESS thief Stephen Whitworth is probably on most people’s minds as the most despicable of men.

I can only imagine some people would like to do with him after his dreadful act of stealing a collection box meant for little cancer battler Bradley Lowery.

I agree that this 35 year old deserved to be apprehended and indeed punished, but I would like to know the facts.

Was he starving? Did he have nothing? He was, after all, as described homeless.

We all love little Bradley who has won over our hearts but, surely, three months in jail for what must be seen as a cry for help?

In this day and age to be living rough on our streets should not exist.

No doubt Mr Whitworth does regret his actions, but the blame must lie 100 per cent with the Government which allows homelessness.

Well at least he has a home for the next three months at a cost of many thousands to the taxpayer.
