I WAS hoping when the Post Office moved to WH Smith in Durham things would improve but no, they have not.
On Tuesday, February 14, there were two tellers and one girl assisting people with postage.
The manager informed me he was over-staffed.
One teller was doing business transactions and the other doing everything else.
I know passports etc. have to be checked, but would it not be quicker if the business teller did this?
Many elderly people use the post office, myself included, and find it tiring. There are some chairs but if you sit down you will lose your place in the queue.
Previous to this, one teller was chewing gum – I did have word with the manager who is new.
Let’s hope we see a change.
