NOW hear my side about the Woodham community centre article by Lizzie Anderson (Echo, Sept 24).
Yes, it is good news for people who use it and I welcome it as it's good for the village.
They put up lights on the building which I have to bear when darkness falls. They come on and off, disturbing me, affecting my eyes, and distracting me of my only pleasure.
I have lived in this bungalow for 27 years and the street lighting has been good enough for the area, no complaints. I wrote to the community centre secretary about this, but I have not received a reply yet.
I have contacted my local councillor and he said we who live nearby would get a letter, but I have not received it yet.
I am 85-years-old, I am an Army veteran, I am an Aycliffe Angel and I am disabled.
I have a heart nurse who comes out to see me every fortnight, a nurse coming out every week to check me over and I have a carer.
Now you can see why I want to stop these lights as they are getting me down badly.
J Mullen, Woodham Village
