IN response to all the recent letters regarding cats, we are pensioners and we struggle to do the garden as my husband is crippled with arthritis sciatica and diabetes.

But gardening is our hobby and what keeps us going.

There are two cats next door and they are forever digging up our garden, vegetables and plants, knocking pots over and doing their business in the garden.

The owners’ response is that ‘they are a cat, that is what they do because they are wild animals’.

It’s about time the law regarding cats was changed.

People spend a lot of time and money doing their gardens. Why should cats be allowed to roam wherever they want?

A petition to change the law should be started to protect all gardeners.

I am not anti-cats. In the past we have had three cats but they were never allowed to destroy property and gardens.
