I REFER to the recent feature article by Stephen Lambert, “What Labour must do next” (Echo, July 25), and his excellent analysis of the votes gained by Ukip. I was delighted by his comment: “Ukip ironically turned out to be the Tories’ secret weapon.”

On February 16 I wrote: “The Tories leaked list was a ploy... to let the Ukip cat out of the bag to wander into the Labour Party pigeon loft and cause electoral havoc at the General Election.”

Mr Lambert concluded: “Labour must get the right people into the top jobs.” The two top jobs presently being fought over are for Leader and Deputy Leader of the Party.

Already, the lunatic left of the party are pushing Tom Watson and Jeremy Corbyn into commanding leads over their struggling rivals.

If these two are elected, Watson for Deputy and Corbyn for leader, then I have no doubt they will go down in history as the “WC” duo who flushed the Labour Party down the pan. They will achieve a lunatic left debating society. Labour voters will seek refuge with another political party.
