IN reference to Sue Heath’s review of “The History Boys”, mentioning the man who “actually nodded off, waking up just before the interval”, may I name and shame the culprit – John Todd, my father.

It was no slur on the excellent performance, merely my father had been up very early that morning and is prone to nodding off at inappropriate moments.

This is not the first time this has happened.

He also nearly landed in his pint of Guinness at the Walworth Castle quiz, and was scared silly at the cinema when he woke up in one of the Pirates of the Caribbean films to see skeletons crossing the sea floor.

The performance itself was superb and my mother and I thoroughly enjoyed the complete show.

Needless to say we would have woken him up if he had started snoring.

Elle Todd, Barton.
