OVER the past 12 months, it has been my honour and privilege to serve as Chairman of Durham County Council and first citizen of the county.
In that time I have been touched by all of the wonderful people I have met: the good souls, personalities and characters that make Durham such a special place.
I want to thank each and everyone for their kindness and hospitality and willingness to share with me their achievements and special moments.
I also want to thank everyone, including your own publication, for the support you have shown to my two chosen charities - the Great North Air Ambulance and Butterwick Hospice.
With the financial support and raised profile they have received, they will be able to continue to provide vital and valued services to the people of the county.
Cllr John Robinson, Outgoing Chairman of Durham County Council.
