I REFER to Alan Christon's excellent letter about cycling in Darlington town centre (HAS, Mar 12).
I wholeheartedly agree with his comments. Darlington council has completely disregarded Health and Safety issues by allowing cyclists in the pedestrian areas. Lads on cycles have no interest in public safety and are putting the shoppers at risk of injury. This cannot be right and should never be accepted. I think there needs to be a petition started to stop this ridiculous ruling.
Our council needs to adopt some common sense in relation to this matter.
Richard Matthews, Darlington.
