HOW ironic for G. Bulmer (HAS, Oct 23) to advise the Labour party to stick to its principles regarding immigration.

Just a few years ago the main principle Labour had about immigration was the cynical, reckless, one of flooding the country with immigrants, who they expected would give them far greater votes at the ballot box. One can only hope the electorate will remember this so-called principled policy at the ballot box.
