HAVING been a follower of HAS for a number of years I was surprised to read VJ Connor’s allegation that fellow contributor Kevin Mcstravick could call a fellow correspondent a horrid little boy (Echo, Aug 13).

Surely if proven, he should be sent to the naughty step?

Pete Bog, Darlington.

I AM not surprised VJ Connor has resorted to attacks on my character using only half a story to strengthen his argument (HAS, Aug 13).

It is true that I called a contributor “a horrid little boy” but Victor failed to add some of the odious comments the contributor had previously written.

Victor himself has used comments to describe individuals during a debate, and Gaza is a subject that brings out emotions.

However, I do hope there’s no irreparable damage.

He accuses me of having a closed mind and showing intolerance and ignorance.

My stance on the Gaza crisis is the same in that I believe Israel has the right to defend itself from terrorists but condemn its disproportionate response.

I’ve asked Victor for his views a number of times now on the culpability of Hamas in the slaughter of innocent women and children and I’m still tolerantly and patiently awaiting his response.

Kev Mcstravick, Darlington.
