I TUNED into BBC Radio 2’s 90th birthday tribute to American singer and actress Doris Day to which columnist Harry Mead recently referred (Echo, Apr 2).
The show was presented by Clare Teal who also featured as a singer. Her voice, however, lacks the quality of a recording artist.
That is where Doris Day came in and I particularly like her version of The Way You Look Tonight.
Mention was made of Day’s first film, Romance on the High Seas, but when this 1940s production played at my local cinema, the title was changed to It’s Magic.
