NORA McCARTHY is researching her family tree and trying to find information about her grandfather.
He was George Dixon. He was born in 1852 in Dishforth, Yorkshire. He lived in Yorkshire according to the 1871 census, but 10 years later he was in 29 Bowser Street, Hartlepool, where he was a police constable, with his wife and children.
In the 1891 census, he was a widow living in Esh, durham. In 1901 and 1911, he was living in South Moor, Durham, and classed as a policeman on a pension.
Ms McCarthy is trying to find his police records or other information about him.
