BERNIE FINEMAN and Mario Pacione are back for a new run of car restorations.
They are basically the odd couple of the motoring world – Bernie is a no-nonsense cockney, while Mario is from Canada.
They seem to spend every waking moment arguing, but there is one thing that unites them: cars. Good job they have eight more projects to work on during this series, then.
First into the garage is one of the 1980s’ most popular supercars, the Porsche 928.
The one the boys get their hands on appears to have seen better days, and they hope it is just cosmetic damage they are dealing with. Unfortunately, the motor’s problems are far from skin deep. It is rotten to the core. Seized brakes, rusting bolts, nuts and screws drive them round the bend, but the final straw comes when its complicated electrics system goes haywire and locks Mario inside...
