ON Saturday, same-sex marriage became legal in England and Wales, and Benjamin Till and Nathan Taylor were one of the first couples of tie the knot.
But that’s not the only thing that makes their ceremony so special. Till is a composer, whose credits include A1: The Road Musical, while Taylor is a performer who has appeared in numerous West End shows. How better to celebrate their historic union than with a full-on musical production, including sung vows and readings, ensemble numbers featuring the whole congregation, and a duet for the grooms’ mums?
In Our Gay Wedding: The Musical C4 offers coverage of this unique occasion, with an introduction and commentary by Stephen Fry, as well as messages from everyone from Boy George and Olivia Newton-John to Will Young and Jon Snow.
