Hello Everyone! I hope you’ve all managed to stay in control this week and have had some fantastic results on the scales.

As I said last week, this week was going to be a tough week for me and it was resulting in me gaining 2.5lb. I’m just so pleased it’s not more.

Unfortunately, my parents home was badly flooded when the North East had the torrential rain.

The amount of damage is dreadful and it’s meant they’ve had to leave their home for at least 6 months for the necessary repairs to be undertaken.

It’s meant that this last week we’ve been moving them into temporary accommodation until their home has dried out and been repaired.

It’s been a very stressful time especially when you begin to realise just how much damage has been done but also the items of sentimental value that have been lost, never to be replaced.

It’s taken many long hours and needless to say, I’ve skipped meals and also eaten take away food out of convenience and due to being too tired to even think about cooking.

This next week will be much the same but I’m determined to try and stay in control. We've re-jigged our weekly eating plan and slotted in lunches that can be eaten on the go.

That’s the beauty of Slimming World, you can eat on the go without wrecking your weight loss.

So long as you plan ahead, nothing is impossible. We’ve also prepared meals by cooking in bulk so that we have meals in the freezer that we can just heat through when we’re so tired we can hardly stand up.

Always remember; the secret of success is to plan ahead. “Fail to prepare! Prepare to fail!” Are you prepared for the week ahead?

Peach Ripple Ice Lollies

This time of year can be difficult especially if you have young children or grandchildren. The temptation during school holidays can be a nightmare especially if you have a sweet tooth. I found some great recipes this week that will stop you giving in to temptation when the little ones are having either sweets or ice cream.

Ingredients
200g peaches canned in juice
4 x 125g pots Müllerlight Greek-style honeyed peach fat-free yogurt

Method

1. Drain the peaches and chop them up into small pieces. Place the peaches and yogurts in a bowl and mix together.

2. Spoon the mixture into lolly moulds and place an ice-cream stick in the centre of each one. Freeze for 4-6 hours until firm.

3. Just before serving, dip each mould in hot water for a few seconds and carefully remove the lolly.

It's so quick and simple. Even the children would enjoy them.

Jelly Worms

Ingredients
1 Packet of Sugar Free Jelly Crystals (any flavour)
1 Large Pack of Straws
1 Tall Glass
1 Elastic Band

Method

1. Tie the straws with the Elastic Band and stand in the glass making sure they are flat against the bottom of the glass.

2. Mix up the sugar free jelly as instructed then pour into the straws.

3. Place carefully into the fridge and leave to set.

4. Once the jelly has set, place the straws under warm water and remove the jelly.

5. Put them on a plate and enjoy. It's a great way to enjoy the holidays with the children but without paying the price on the scales.

Have a great week and hopefully, I'll see you lighter and stress free next week, Love Wendy xxx
