I CANNOT agree with Steve Kay of Redcar (HAS, Apr 12) who states the whole country will be transfixed on the day of the forthcoming royal wedding.
I for one won’t be even though I am not against the Royal family.
Why would I want to sit for a number of hours watching two people I don’t know getting married when the sun will probably be shining?
I shall take myself and my wife out into the Yorkshire Dales for a six to eight mile walk unless of course she wishes to stay at home to watch the wedding. I haven’t asked her yet.
The media, of course, will cover the wedding brilliantly in true British tradition.
As for Theresa May, I bet she is over the moon she hasn’t been invited as she will be able to sit back and relax watching the FA Cup final in the comfort of her own home.
I shall be recording the match while out hoping to avoid the score.
Mike Taylor, Darlington
