I DROVE along Darlington’s Carmel Road South yesterday on the way back to Middleton St George.
I totally agree with Shona Thomas (HAS, Mar 16) regarding the felling of trees. Whoever sanctioned this has committed unbelievable vandalism in the name of money.
We are told that we need thousands of houses to be built and the 59 proposed units will help. Houses are required to be able to help first time buyers – but in Carmel Road South? I don’t think so.
It’s all about money for greedy developers and lots of lovely extra council tax for the town.
Story Homes should be ashamed of themselves for this vandalism, but of course they couldn’t give a damn.
Terry Hudson, Middleton St. George
