I HAVE just received my yearly tax bill and I question how it can still be justified as it is based on “rateable value” which is now out of date. Looking at the several components of the bill, it is obvious they are all for services to people in a property and do not have any connection to the property’s rateable value.
Bands of different amounts for the same services seem nonsensical.
A new debate and consultation is long overdue to create a more satisfactory solution.
