THE pig unit at Biggins Farm is a real issue for villages in the Deerness Valley. People from Esh Winning, Ushaw Moor, Bearpark, Brandon, New Brancepeth, Brancepeth Village, Meadowfield, Langley Moor and surrounding villages, please be aware: there is a planning application for buildings to house and rear 4,000 pigs at this site.
I fear that the stench will be unbearable.
Deerness Valley Walk – horse people, cyclists, ramblers etc. – be warned. We can only hope the application will be unsuccessful.
The main concern is that people are not aware and it will be too late once our rivers are polluted and our valley spoilt. Anyone can make their concerns know by writing to the Planning Dept. as soon as possible.
