WORLD football rule-makers are to consider proposals to reduce the game of football to two halves of 30 minutes to increase playing time (Echo, June 19).
A typical 90 minute match has fewer than 60 minutes of actual playing time, the International Football Association Board said.
When the ball goes out of play, the clock stops in a bid to make football more attractive.
I propose it stops at 90 minutes and when the ball goes out of play the clock stops so the fans are getting what they have paid for.
The only way to make football more attractive is to give fans what they want - goals. Reward teams more points for scoring goals and 0-0 might never happen again.
