THE play-offs it is for us after a tough season and the last two results not going our way despite everyone putting in 110 per cent. Sometimes football doesn’t go how you plan it, there’s no point dwelling on what might of been, we move on and look forward to a big game against a very good Spennymoor Town side next week.

It will be a huge game and a great advert for North-East football. I speak to their captain Chris Mason pretty much every day and we’ve had a little bit crack about playing each other.

We go to Vegas together at the end of May and were hoping that we’d both be able to celebrate being promoted but that’s not going to be the case.

The atmosphere will be great and we’re looking forward to the Darlo fans making as much noise as possible and getting right behind us.

The last two games were perhaps the two most frustrating games I’ve been a part of (a 0-0 draw at Lancaster and a 1-1 draw at Warrington). We did everything but score against Lancaster and threw everything at Warrington. Both sides played their socks off against us and tried to slow the games down every chance they got. I wasn’t sure why a point meant so much to the two sides but that’s football I suppose and you can’t get annoyed with the opposition for not being able to beat them.

The support from the fans has been unbelievable, nothing but positivity from everyone and getting right behind us, which is exactly what we need. Everyone is trying their hardest to get the club up the leagues and back where they belong. It’s great to be a part of knowing we’re all in it together.

Just to finish off, I’ll say good luck to Blyth Spartans who have a chance of play offs on the final weekend. The run they have go on has been outstanding and they deserve a place in the play offs. I can’t imagine many teams wanting to face them in knock out games given their recent form.
