Theatre Hullabaloo sets sail for Darlington Library

SPIRITS of the Sea, Darlington-based Theatre Hullabaloo’s new play for children aged six years and above is coming to the town's Crown Street Library, on Saturday, February 11.

Set inside a fisherman’s hut, during this fully immersive experience you’ll hear the tale of a young girl who talks to the sea and how she taught her village to let their worries play in the wind rather than sink beneath the waves.

Developed with children from primary schools and commissioned to support teaching and learning in mental health and emotional well-being, Spirits of the Sea combines original live music, puppetry and storytelling to tell an enchanting maritime adventure.

Miranda Thain, creative producer at Theatre Hullabaloo says: “Spirits of the Sea is a magical adventure story that will whisk the whole family away to another world. We have created a set that’s like no other, you can hear the seagulls and smell the seaweed as you are transported by live music and wonderful storytelling. The set is our most impressive and immersive to date making this an unforgettable experience for children and their grown-ups too."

Tickets for the performance are £6.50 or £22 for a family of up to four persons and available to book at ticketsource.co.uk/theatre-hullabaloo or on 01325-486555.

Spirits of the Sea will tour throughout February. For more information, visit theatrehullabaloo.org.uk
