Luna to light up Carmel College

DARLINGTON-based children’s theatre company Theatre Hullabaloo are bringing a touch of magic to Carmel College this week with a captivating show designed to introduce young children to the world of theatre.

Luna, which is produced with Theatr Iolo, in association with Northern Stage, tells the delightful tale of friendship, the moon and being afraid of the dark. Aimed at two to five year olds and their families, the show is previewing at Carmel College this Saturday (December 3) before heading to Northern Stage for a four-week sell-out run.

Miranda Thain, creative producer at Theatre Hullabaloo is proud that Luna will be the first theatre experience for many of the audience.

"Whether you are two years old, 32 or 82, going to the theatre for the first time is often something that you remember forever and we love welcoming children and their families to make special memories together," she says.

Using original music, the show tells the tale of Luna, bored up in the sky by herself, befriending young Billy, and launching a wondrous adventure of light and dark to help him overcome his fears of the nighttime.

Theatre Hullabaloo will be launching a #theatrefirsts competition at the family shows on Saturday. Audiences will be invited to take a #theatrefirsts photograph of themselves with Pig (Billy’s best friend) after the show and share the memory by posting it to Theatre Hullabaloo’s Facebook or Twitter page. The winner will receive a bundle of Luna goodies.

* Luna runs at 11am and 1.30pm. Tickets: £6.50 each or £22 for a family of four. Box Office: ticketsource.co.uk/theatre-hullabaloo or 01325-352-004.
