Lucy Porter at Barnard Castle

BARNARD Castle comedy club Funny Way To Be opens its season with a the new show by Lucy Porter, Consequences, at The Witham, on Saturday, January 28.

Consequences sees the comic wondering how has she become one of those people who wears yoga pants all day... the kind she used to make fun of – people with their happiness maps and their gratitude journals and their bags made out of recycled tyre treads. But now it seems possible that the truth about getting older is that there are fewer and fewer things to make fun of until finally there is nothing you are sure you will never be.

Porter had a list of things she thought she would never be: Monogamous. A mother. A cat lover. A slow-walker. A change-counter. A miser. One by one, Porter has crossed each of the imaginary lines she had drawn in the imaginary sand. In this show she works out whether there have been any real consequences.

The humour is suitable for anyone aged 14+, meaning even more fans can enjoy Porter's inclusive comedy.

Porter has been a huge hit with comedy audiences up and down the country for over ten years with her distinctive, bouncy, feel-good comedy. A regular face and voice on TV and radio panel shows, Porter has appeared on BBC 1’s Pointless, Celebrity Mastermind Champion, QI, Mock the Week, Argumental, Have I Got News for You, Clive Anderson’s Chat Room, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and What the Dickens?.
