BATTLEFIELD 1 is set to hit the shelves of North-East game shops tomorrow.

This instalment of the popular shooter series will be set in World War 1 and will featured the series’ popular, large scale multiplayer and a campaign mode set to take place across many different battles.

Players will have access to WW1 era weaponry, land and air vehicles as well as battlegrounds from the Great War.

It’s popularity sky-rocketed after it’s reveal as it bucks the popular trend of far future shooters inspired by Halo and Call of Duty.

Battlefield 1 is currently ranked in the top 10 most popular video games on Twitch TV, a video game livestreaming site, beating out popular Blizzard game Overwatch.

Livestreams of the game or live playthroughs as they have been called, of the game are pulling in over 12,000 viewers after an early release to certain players.

A beta of the multiplayer was launched at the end of August which again was met with high praise on its time period and new weather effects despite only containing one map.

Early reviews of the game have been positive and currently it holds an 8 on Metracritic, a popular review aggregator.

The game is out for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Friday 21 October.
