Andy Moss... (Rhys Ashworth from Channel 4’s Hollyoaks) will be joining Middlesbrough Theatre on a thrilling carpet ride and an adventure of a lifetime this Christmas as Aladdin.

Moss played Rhys Ashworth from 2005 until 2012 and recently returned to the soap during Cindy's bipolar storyline. He is currently appearing as Paul Cuthbert in the popular BBC Drama Doctors with Lucy-Jo Hudson.

Aladdin is one of the most magical pantomimes ever written and tells the story of a young peasant boy who tries to win the hand of the beautiful Princess, with a little help from the magical Genie of the Lamp of course.

However the wicked wizard Abanazer played by Ricky Groves (best-known as Garry Hobbs from BBC’s Eastenders) wants to steal Aladdin’s magic lamp to help him become the most powerful wizard in the world. He also wants to kidnap the beautiful Princess and make her his bride. It has more twists than an EastEnders' Christmas storyline.

Follow Aladdin’s adventures as he gets entangled in the struggle of good over evil and defies the law to rescue the Princess assisted by his mother Widow Twanky and the hapless Wishee Washee played by Middlesbrough favourite Scott Gallagher.

* Aladdin opens on Thursday, Decmber 8 and runs until Sunday, January 8. Box Office: 01642-815181 (10am to 6pm Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm on Saturdays) or middlesbroughtheatre.co.uk
