Foals and Disclosure added as Leeds Festival headliners

READING and Leeds Festivals have announced that Foals and Disclosure as co-headliners for this year’s festival taking place across Bank Holiday Weekend August 26 to 28 and joining the previously-announced star act of Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The two bastions of modern British music will be making the step up to the largest festival stages of their careers. Foals return after their festival-stopping surprise set last year which has then seen the Oxford five-piece rising through the ranks of unmissable live acts.

Dance phenomenon Disclosure are making their major UK Festival headline debut. Their chart-topping dance anthems saw crowds overflowing the festival's NME/Radio 1 Stage in 2014.

Event promoter Melvin Benn says: “I couldn’t be more excited about this announcement. We’re very proud to be able to give these acts the recognition they deserve.”

A Foals spokesman said: “I used to watch Nirvana live at Reading 1992, on VHS, repeatedly while dying my hair blue and learning how to play guitar, badly. We've worked our way up on our own terms and to be given the chance to headline one of the world’s most iconic festivals is a huge achievement for us.”

Disclosure commented: " We've been going to Reading festival since we were kids and have played at both festivals several times, but never in a million years did we think we'd be at the top of the line-up."

Other new names added to the festival list are: Jack Ü, Imagine Dragons, Two Door Cinema Club, Fetty Wap, Crystal Castles, Parkway Drive, Nothing But Thieves, The Internet, Oliver Heldens, Hannah Wants, Kurupt FM Presents: Champagne Steam, Rooms and CassetteBoy vs DJ Rubbish.
