POPULAR TV wildlife expert Steve Backshall is bringing his UK speaking tour to Harrogate Royal Hall on October 22 and in Newcastle's Mill Volvo Tyne on October 24.

Steve is best-known for his recent ballroom dancing debut on Strictly Come Dancing as well as a CBBC Deadly 60 series in which he comes face-to-face with some of the natural world’s most impressive predators.

He's also a prolific author, having published 13 books. On the tour Steve will be promoting his new book, the third in his series called The Falcon Chronicles, as well as discussing his adventures on his expeditions. Among his exploits being shown on screen will be footage of Steve dangling beneath a helicopter over a crocodile's nest, free-diving with great white sharks and under Antarctic icebergs with leopard seals, plus catching the world’s most venomous creatures by hand. There will also be tales of becoming the first man to report back from vast jungle mountains, discovering new species, making genuine efforts in conservation and taking the first ever light into a previously undiscovered cave system.

* The Falcon Chronicles series currently consists of three novels; Tiger Wars, Ghosts of the Forest and Wilds of the Wolf which are all aimed at young adults. The books follow the quests of Saker and Sinter who attempt to right some of the wrongs perpetrated against wildlife around the planet.
