IT’S been five years since electropop then-duo La Roux (now the stagename of just singer/ keyboardist/producer Elly Jackson, since bandmate Ben Langmaid left this year) released their selftitled debut - earning places in the charts and national consciousness thanks to stunning earworms In For The Kill and Bulletproof.

The new offering begins well, with opener Uptight Downtown very nearly living up to those career highlights. Paradise Is You and Tropical Chancer help to continue the bright, breezy tropical vibe that pervades the record. But other tracks miss their targets. One for fans only.
