They came and they conquered!

Durham pop-rock sensation Twister headlined the O2 Academy last night and it left fans demanding more!

The night began with an acoustic set, exclusively for VIP ticket holders, which saw the band play through a range of their most loved hits as well as debuting new material in its rawest form. The band who were illuminated by strings of lighting, had the crowd enthralled in the acoustics which really stripped back and showcased their talent.

Support came in the form of a triptych of North East bands; Saints of Arcadia, Nephilim and Into the Deep who hyped the crowd up ready for Twister to take the stage.

The band who last headlined the O2 back in May last year looked happy to be back, settling in straight away with fan favourites ‘What a Time’, ‘Famous Last Words’, ‘Burn It to The Ground’ and ‘The IOP’.

The night was separated in two by an acoustic solo performance of ‘Charlie’s Fallen’ from Stevie, the heartfelt and solemn break in the set gave both the band and fans a chance to reminisce at how far they had come since the bands early days.

The crowd showed their love for the band, shouting for more after every song, some even forming a mosh pit towards the end of the bands set.

From frontman Stevie Stoker commanding the crowd to Jake Grimes’ incredible guitar riffs, the night went from strength to strength, producing a show like no other. The onstage chemistry is always second to none with the band sharing more than just a love for music.

Each show is a well-orchestrated masterpiece and with months of hard work behind the scenes it’s clear that their dedication pays off. With stunning visuals, confetti cannons, pyrotechnics and smoke machines to complete the ensemble, just when you think they can’t top it they just exceed all expectations.
