GOING on a cruise is supposed to be good for your health and 1.5 million Britons try it every year, but it’s not all sun, sea and plain sailing, as ship’s doctor MacFarlane relates.
His year on board a cruise ship was anything but as he had to deal with heart attacks, extreme allergic reactions, drug overdoses while warding off the threat of the highly contagious norovirus.
But the biggest headache of all was the bolshy bar stool which just refused to play ball with boozed-up passengers.
And midnight buffets can also carry a lethal punch. A ship’s doctor sees it all.
