AHEAD of Planes 2: Fire & Rescue being released in cinemas on August 8, Disney will be attending the Sunderland International Airshow on July 26 – 27, accompanied by a fully-interactive fire truck. Children will be invited to explore the fire engine, which will have on board interactive screens playing clips from the film. Visitors will also get the chance to experience a fully interactive game where they will fly as characters Dusty and Dipper, and help protect the National Park, extinguishing fires as airborne fire fighters.

Alongside the truck there will be fun and games: a Water Blaster Game and a fireman’s fancy dress timed challenge, all overseen by real fireman who can explain the importance of fire safety and give a real insight into the bravery of firemen.

Sue Stanhope, Airshow Director, said that "We are thrilled to welcome Disney to this year’s Sunderland International Airshow as a fantastic addition to the event’s ever-growing free family activity. Sunderland City Council are the lead Local Authority for Tyne and Wear Fire Authority, so the fact that they are able to provide fire brigade members to form part of the Disney display is a great touch," says airshow director Sue Stanhope.
