This wonderful group has toured each year since 2007, developing and refining an already obvious musical rapport. Evan Christopher’s sublime clarinet touches one at so many levels, perfectly complemented by David Blenkhorn’s guitar and with supple rhythmic support from Dave Kelbie and Sebastian Girardot on guitar and bass.
Their programme now extends beyond Django to embrace Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and Jelly Roll Morton. Recorded at four different UK venues, at the end of their 2012 tour, this CD includes new and often longer versions of songs like Douce Ambiance, The Mooche, Mamanita and Songe d’Automne and truly shows off the group at its peak.
