CHART topping singersongwriter Ellie Goulding admitted to being nervous after taking to the stage in front of a sell-out crowd.

It was a confession which is hard to believe considering she has two successful albums behind her and is singing this year’s official Children In Need single, not to mention the fact she performed at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge a couple of years ago.

If there were any nerves, she did not need to worry as the likeable pop star endeared herself to the crowd from the moment she appeared on stage to open with Figure 8, a from her second album Halcyon.

The Herefordshire-born singer’s set included Starry Eyed, Anything Could Happen, I Need Your Love and, my personal favourite, her cover of Elton John’s Your Song.

She finished off her set with Lights before returning for an encore with You My Everything and her first UK number one, Burn.

Ellie had the crowd in the palm of her hand for the entire night, regardless of whether it was an acoustic number or an up-tempo song which resulted in her head banging.

The 26-year-old has made it this far with hard work and determination, not to mention bags of talent, and the future looks even brighter.

I’ve always been a massive fan and this leg of The Halcyon Days Tour was an amazing performance. I have no reason to change my opinion yet, so roll on the next album... and tour.
