WATSON Burton has welcomed two of the firm’s most promising lawyers into its partnership.

James Harrison and Jacqueline Turner have been promoted after a number of years with the firm, in the construction and employment groups respectively.

Mr Harrison joined the firm as a trainee solicitor in 2001. He has extensive experience in working for a range of businesses within the construction and engineering industry, including private and public sector developers, funders, contractors, and housebuilders, as well as project management and architectural practices.

He said: “I am delighted to accept the role of partner at Watson Burton.

“The firm’s construction and engineering group is rated as number one in the North in terms of its service offering and is recognised for its quality of work and national portfolio of clients across the country. I look forward to continuing to be part of the team and further developing the practice nationally.”

Ms Turner has worked within the firm’s nationally recognised employment group for a number of years, after making the decision to specialise in the field when she completed her training contract with Watson Burton in 2003.

She now advises a range of commercial and public sector organisations on all aspects of employment law and routinely acts on behalf of respondents in claims in employment tribunals for damages, unfair dismissal and discrimination and, in doing so, conducts her own advocacy regularly.

Senior partner Gillian Hall said: “James and Jacqueline work extremely hard for the firm and thoroughly deserve to be partners. The promotions reflect our commitment to growing our practice nationally and the ongoing professional development of our lawyers.”
