LABOUR leader Jeremy Corbyn is reported to have lost a vote of no confidence.
More than 80 per cent of Labour MPs - a total of 172 - are understood to have said they did not have confidence in Mr Corbyn as leader of the party.
Only around 40 MPs are said to have voted in favour of Mr Corbyn.
The overwhelming result, while not binding, will pile further pressure on Mr Corbyn.
But the Labour leader is understood to be unmoved by the vote. He said the result has no constitutional legitimacy, adding: "I will not betray members by resigning."
