ONE of the region's law firms is offering employers a whistle stop tour of the most important legal and practical issues involved when employing people.
Endeavour Partnership, the only Tees Valley firm providing purely commercial legal services to businesses in the region, is hosting a breakfast briefing on Tuesday 21 October at the Wilton Centre, the business and science park that neighbours the Wilton International site.
The free event will address typical issues with the 'atypical' worker in recognition of the fact that employment relationships now come in all shapes and sizes, as do the issues.
Apprentices, temporary contracts, zero hour contracts, annualised hours, posted workers, agency workers, part time working, home working, secondments are just some examples of the flexible ways in which businesses and workers enter into contractual arrangements with each other. Endeavour Partnership’s employment team will address most of the important legal and practical 'do's and dont's' involved.
The event will deal with questions like - can a temporary worker be dismissed at will, what claims could an agency worker have against a hiring company and what are the most common pitfalls when dealing with part time working?
In addition there will be an update on the new regime governing apprenticeships and the opportunities involved.
The event will begin with breakfast and registration at 8.30am and is due to start at 9am and finish at about 10.15am.
To reserve a place please email Joanna Gibson at j.gibson@endeavourpartnership.com. The first delegate from each organisation receives a free place with subsequent places charged at £25 + VAT.
