SEDGEFIELD Racecourse has appointed the seventh female racecourse manager in Britain.
JILL WILLIAMSON has taken up the position only months after taking over the commercial management of the County Durham track, while at the same time as being business development manager at Newcastle Racecourse.
Julie Harrington, operations director of Northern Racing, said: "Jill richly deserves her chance as general manager after a very successful time at Newcastle Racecourse.
"Her appointment at Sedgefield Racecourse marks the continued success of Northern Racing's internal development programme which has seen several members of staff rise through the ranks and take senior roles."
