THE North East Sales and Marketing Academy (nesma) has signed up its 200th student.

James Kimmins from Durham has registered to study the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Professional Diploma in Marketing. Since he graduated from Northumbria University James has been working at Nissan and is now looking forward to the next stage of his career.

“I have decided that marketing is the career for me! I realised that I needed to update my professional qualifications and study with a successful organisation, which is why I chose nesma,” he said.

In the latest results published by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), nesma had a 90 per cent pass rate across all levels of qualification, well above the CIM’s last national average figure of 78 per cent.

Last year the successes of the staff and students were recognised by the CIM when it commended nesma for the outstanding performance of its students in 12 of the qualification modules they sat.

nesma has expanded the range of qualifications to include the Chartered Institute of Public Relations’ Foundation Award and the Digital Marketing Institute’s Professional Diploma.

Nesma has also begun working in schools to build up an interest in marketing from an early age that will open up the possibilities that a career in marketing can offer.
