A HUGE 28 tonne dredging grab is the latest investment made by Teesside's Able UK.

The £175,000 grab supplied by Verstegen will be used in conjunction with Europe’s largest mobile harbour crane based at Seaton Port on the Tees

With a capacity of 16 cubic metres, it will further increase the versatility of the Leibherr LHM 600 mobile harbour crane which has been operating at Able Seaton Port for the past two years.

Logistics Manager Mark Nixon “This latest acquisition further enhances the range of world-class state-of-the-art equipment available at our developments on the Tees and the Humber and which are also make available for hire.”

Other equipment in the Able fleet includes self-propelled modular transporters as well as rough terrain cranes, crawler cranes, earthmoving equipment and the largest self-propelled roller with compaction monitoring system.

Adds Able UK Executive Chairman Peter Stephenson “Our recently-established Logistics Division is a natural extension to support our other activities including port facilities, marine decommissioning and offshore oil and gas rig upgrading and maintenance.

“Our growing list of heavy transport and lifting assets is an important element in maintaining our position as a market leader in providing multi-user port facilities.”
