A STORAGE company is open for business after it completed a £500,000 overhaul of former engineering offices.

Dainton Self Storage moved into the old Amec site, off Yarm Road, in Darlington last month and has transformed the run down interior into self storage facilities and office space for rent.

Managing Director Paul Maddicott said the firm was "really excited" about opening its new site in Darlington.

"Due to a fairly buoyant property market, more compact homes being built and lots of new and small businesses starting up, self storage is enjoying healthy growth in the UK. We believe Darlington is very much under-represented by the industry and our new site is fantastically located off Darlington's new Eastern Transport Corridor giving immediate access to the A66,” he added.
