AN EXPERIENCED Darlington-based hairdresser this week won national acclaim.
Lesley Charles of Hooker & Young scooped the Franchisee of the Year title at the HJ 2014 British Hairdressing Business Awards.
Ms Charles said: "Winning Franchisee of the Year is quite simply the cherry on top of the cake.
"This is my 30th year in the hairdressing industry and I am so proud of my team who have worked so hard to get Hooker & Young Darlington to this point. My clients have been so loyal and supportive and we are now seeing new clients travel a long way to enjoy the experience at the salon, but also to enjoy Darlington too.
"Working with Gary Hooker and Michael Young has been a dream. It was such a glamorous event at the Lancaster London and the support on social media, from colleagues and other business in the North-East has been incredible".
Mr Hooker said: "We are so proud of Lesley and the team. This is another coup for North-East business and the hair industry in the North-East. Thank you Lesley you are amazing."
