AN ambitious technology company is powering into new sectors after clinching a new deal worth £270,000.
Gateshead-based Aspire has won a three-year contract with major infrastructure experts px group to supply them with a wide-area network.
Stockton-based px Group, which had a turnover last year of £81m, is an infrastructure and facility management specialist working in a range of industries including power, gas, renewable energy and petrochemicals.
The company delivers services across the UK from its Tees Valley head office and has gained experience in regions such as the UAE, Tanzania and South America by working with global organisations.
Stephen McNickle, sales manager at Aspire, said: “It’s great to know that px trust us with this work – the company manages and operates major infrastructure sites such as power stations and major gas facilities and installations so it’s vital our support will be there when and if needed.
“px group are a serious player in their area of work and we are delighted to extend our technology partnership with them.
“We were already supplying the company with telecoms and we’re looking forward to widening our working relationship with them.
“They trust us to deliver the levels of expertise and business critical support they need. We’ll be connecting all of their UK sites, using a private cloud for improved connectivity and resilience.”
Mark Willis, at px, said: "It's an initial three-year deal, but we are looking at other services and project assistance from Aspire.
“We operate and manage high hazard, high-value production assets and a 24/7 trading team, so responsiveness, flexibility and a clear understanding of the demands of our business are absolutely critical to our needs. We know through experience that Aspire can give us the right level of support.
"We've worked with Aspire for a couple of years on smaller-scale projects – and we like them as a firm. We wanted a responsive, flexible company that would give us first-class 24/7 support 365 days of the year in a very reactive environment- and that's exactly what we're getting with Aspire.
"The contract is initially to provide a wide-area network covering all of our businesses. We manage several sites in the UK and a rapidly-expanding base in Dubai.
