A NORTH-East investor has agreed a deal with the production company behind the latest film featuring Reservoir Dogs star Tim Roth.

Middleton Enterprises, which is led by entrepreneur Jeremy Middleton, has invested an undisclosed sum in Corona Pictures, which is set to release the film The Liability. The independent British production firm is led by producer Richard Johns who has worked with stars such as John Malkovich and Nicholas Cage.

Mr Middleton, who is a board member of the North East Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “I’ve always been very passionate about film, and I am hugely excited to invest in this fantastic production company.

“I am sure that Corona has the potential to be the British film and television industry’s next big thing. They are already producing top-quality cinema from right here in the UK, and are beginning to break into the television market as well. I can see extremely good things ahead for this company.”

Mr Johns, said: “We are very happy to sign this investment deal with Middleton Enterprises, which is allowing us to expand and further help outstanding new writing and directing talent get their first big breaks in the film industry.

“We already have a very strong library of films, and have some extremely exciting upcoming projects, so it’s a great time for Middleton Enterprises to get on board.”
