AN employment advice service has awarded a contract to a North-East law firm.

Collingwood Legal, in Newcastle, is working with Acas for a third consecutive time to deliver a series of mock employment tribunal sessions.

Bosses say the events will be aimed at human resource workers and company managers, focusing on the practical element of tribunal proceedings.

Ian Mastaglio, of Acas, said: “We are delighted to be working with Collingwood Legal again.

“Feedback from participants is resoundingly positive and they report how much they enjoy the interactive mock tribunal session and having their practical questions answered by expert employment law solicitors.”

Paul McGowan, Collingwood Legal founder and principal lawyer, said the contract reflected how highly its skills are sought after in the region.

He added: “Our mock tribunals provide a realistic, safe environment in which anyone who might find themselves taking part in an actual hearing can gain some practical experience of how they work, get advice on preparing for an appearance and ask questions about specific situations.

“We had terrific feedback from the people in last year’s programme and believe the informative, interactive and enjoyable sessions we’ll be holding this year will prove just as popular and useful.”
