A LAW firm hopes to raise thousands of pounds for charity at a sell-out event.

Latimer Hinks' Eighth Charity Ball, supported by HSBC, takes place on Friday, June 6, at Wynyard Hall, near Sedgefield, County Durham.

St Teresa’s Hospice and the County Durham Community Foundation are the law firm’s main chosen charities, with a number of smaller charities also supported.

The company, which has offices in Darlington, last year raised £8,500 for a number of charities, including The Soldier’s Charity, Darlington Town Mission and Age UK.

Anne Elliott, Latimer Hinks' partner, said: “Since holding our first ball in 1998, we have raised more than £55,000 for some fantastic causes, and we are looking forward to raising more and providing our clients, colleagues and friends with another enjoyable event.

“St Teresa’s Hospice carries out excellent work as does the County Durham Community Foundation in supporting local charitable causes.”

Jane Bradshaw, St Teresa's Hospice chief executive, added: “We have enjoyed an excellent and long-lasting relationship with Latimer Hinks Solicitors and the money raised will go directly towards patient care at the hospice.”
