NORTH-EAST entrepreneur Sadie Ayton, known as Sadie the Bra Lady, has been named Lingerie Retailer of the Year at an event regarded as the Oscars of the fashion industry.
Model and television presenter Lisa Snowdon hosted the glamorous evening in Grosvenor House, London, as York fashion store operator Sarah Coggles picked up the Independent Retailer and Buyer of the Year gongs.
Sadie the Bra Lady serves the region’s underwear needs from her stores in Consett, Darlington, Sunderland and Ashington, in Northumberland.
She walked away with the Drapers Award for Lingerie Retailer of the Year in 2000 and a decade on continues to champion her mission to get all of her customers into the right-sized bra.
