A NORTH-EAST networking organisation which meets over a bowl of mussels is to launch a Durham branch next year.
The Durham Mussel Club follows the success of the venture in Newcastle and Sunderland.
The Mussel Club was set up more than four years ago as an opportunity for like-minded business people to meet in an informal and social environment.
Originally a group of 20 people meeting for a bowl of mussels and a glass of wine, the Newcastle Mussel Club now offers a selection of starters and main courses with coffee.
The Sunderland Mussel club followed two years ago and the South Tyneside Mussel club was launched in September.
Guest speakers have included representatives from the Bank of England, Newcastle City Council, Sunderland City Council, Gentoo, One North East, the CBI, Entrust and Newcastle International Airport.
Between 40 and 60 businesses attend each event.
