GEORGE Parker-Fuller and Nik Tunley, both associates at Endeavour Partnership Business Lawyers, completed this summer’s Zurich Ironman Triathlon.

Nik completed the course in 13 hours 35 minutes and George in 13:43.

They raised over £4,000 for their nominated charities, Unicef and Coco, both of which do essential work improving the lives of children both at home and in the developing world.

The race comprised a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and 26.2- mile run, starting on the shores of Lake Zurich, where 2,200 people swam two laps around the lake, including getting out of the lake and running over a small island at the end of the first lap.

The swim completed, it was out of the water and a quick change and off on the bike ride, which consisted of two laps around a 56-mile course and included some significant hills, with two aptly named ‘the Beast’ and ‘Heartbreak Hill’.

After the bike ride it was back into the transition area to make a start at the four laps of the 10.5km run course.

George said: “The organisation of the race was phenomenal, as was the support, with the people of the villages out in force cheering the riders on, ringing cow bells, blowing horns and having street parties as the race passed through.”

“Armies of volunteers manned the feed stations to ensure the racers were not lacking nutrition and hydration,” said Nik.
